The most important tip here: â€‹Make it your own :)

The isn't one recipe, it's up to everyone to follow their inspiration and add to their cup what they feel like drinking. You don't even need to add anything if you don't feel like it. Just some cacao and water and the magic is already there.

My only advice is to stay away from dairy as it prevents the absorption of the active components of the cacao.

The introspective one

This is my go-to recipe when hosting a ceremony. It's simple yet powerful, and stays away from the main allergens (nut milk, cinnamon) in order to cater to large groups. If vegans attend the ceremony I'll swap the honey for coconut sugar or date syrup.

I get the verbena from my parents' garden, the blue lotus from Egypt and the honey from Oliver's bee farm.

- Citrus verbena

- Blue lotus

- Local honey

- Cayenne pepper

Infuse the water with verbena (clarity) and blue lotus (clairvoyance) before adding it to your cacao. End with honey to your liking and sprinkle with cayenne pepper to give it a bit of fire.

The comforting one

When I need a little bit of TLC, I like to use a plant-based milk to add a creamy feeling to my cup of cacao. After trying many, I can say that the macadamia one is just perfect, the creaminess is out of this world!

My friend Marie, who is a flight attendant, brings me the macadamia milk directly back from Australia in her suitcase (yes, she's a true friend).

- Macadamia milk

- Date syrup

- Cardamom

Start by adding hot water to your cacao little by little (see video at the top of this page), once you get to a "chocolate mousse" texture, top up with steamed macadamia milk. Add the date syrup to your liking and a little bit of cardamom.

The functional one

When I need to be extra focused, I like to leverage adaptogenic mushrooms, known for  their health benefits.

My go-to place to source them is Anima Mundi.

- Cordyceps for the energy

- Lion's mane for cognition

- Chaga for the antioxidants

- Coconut sugar

My advice to make it taste better is to add a bit more sweetener than you would usually do if the taste of the mushroom powder bothers you.

The lucid dreaming one

Blue lotus is known for its lucid dreaming properties. The magnesium of the cacao and the rest of the herbs listed below promote deep sleep. You're in for a treat!

Drink 10g of cacao just before sleeping and embrace a peaceful night, punctuated by vivid dreams.

- Blue lotus

- Ashwagandha

- Camomile

- Passionflower

- Skullcap

- Lavender

Infuse your water with the different herbs, and add the powder(s) to your cacao once it's reached that "chocolate mousse" texture. Good night xx

The heart-womb connection one

Wanna take a beat and focus on your heart-womb connection?

Prepare yourself a nice warm cup, run yourself a bath (not too hot though as cacao is already increasing your heart rate) and reconnect <3

- Cinnamon

- Tahini

- Cayenne pepper

- Rose (or rose water)

- Local honey

Infuse your water with the rose, once the cacao has that "chocolate mousse" texture, blend in the tahini. Top up with water and add cinnamon, cayenne pepper and honey to your liking.
